West Village Dentistry

Looking to reinvigorate its outdated office suite, West Village Dentistry asked Idea Space to turn a worn, outdated office into a welcoming and modern environment that reflected the high level of care their patients receive.

Ideally located in the heart of the West Village with views across Washington Square Park, the owner’s preference for an urban industrial aesthetic informed the redesign. Idea Space created a soothing backdrop that befit a dental office while incorporating elements that aligned with the owner’s style.

As part of the material palette, Idea Space introduced blackened stainless steel at the reception desk and polished chrome faucet hardware echoing hand wheels found on fire hose valves.  Blue finishes that had been present in the office were reinterpreted in the metal doors, furnishings, and custom wall coverings.

Cognizant of the impact construction would have on a small business, every effort was made to minimize the disruption to the practice. Operating on a rigid schedule and with careful coordination with the general contractor, the office was able to continue serving patients largely uninterrupted. Demolition and the installation of new electrical, plumbing, ceilings, wall covering, cabinetry and flooring were rapidly executed. Custom furnishings were then brought in to bring the office to a fully finished environment; an inviting space where the staff and patients alike would feel comfortable and at ease.
